We added the Bot Starter module after the same request kept arriving in support: one referral link, a few dozen accounts, and the question of whether each account would count. The honest answer depends on a database the person asking never sees. This page explains how a referral is recorded, what the module does, and where the counting stops.
What is a Telegram referral bot, and what does it actually count?
Rows in its own database. No referral total exists on Telegram's side. The bot hands each user a deep link with a code on the end, and the deep-linking documentation limits that code to 64 characters drawn from A–Z, a–z, 0–9, the underscore and the hyphen. Opening the link shows a Start button. Pressing it delivers /start CODE to the bot, and the bot decides whether the account that pressed it is new and whom to credit.
That decision is the whole product. Every referral system built on a bot, from a giveaway counter to a game that pays in points, comes down to three columns: the user ID that pressed Start, the code it arrived with, and whether that ID has been seen before. The ID is the numeric user ID every account carries, and it stays the same when someone renames themselves or drops their username. So telegram referral bots are not traffic counters. They are lists of distinct accounts.
The code arrives on every press
A referral bot telegram owners set up for a channel and a telegram referral link bot a developer writes for a game behave identically, and the referral link telegram bot users pass around is nothing more than the bot's username plus a code. In practice, telegram bot start referral means exactly that.
One detail settles more disputes than any other. Telegram sends the code every time Start is pressed, even by someone who started the bot last year: the links reference says the button appears "even if the user has already started the bot". Crediting only first-time users is a choice the owner makes in code. Most make it.
| Link form | What the bot receives | Where the code lands | Bot Starter |
|---|---|---|---|
| t.me/bot?start=CODE | /start CODE in the private chat | The bot's message handler | Sent with messages.startBot |
| t.me/bot?startapp=CODE | A Mini App launch carrying the code | The Mini App's launch data | Opens the app, /start first by default |
| t.me/bot/app?startapp=CODE | A launch of one named Mini App | That app's launch data | Opens the named app |
| t.me/bot?startgroup=CODE | /start@bot CODE inside a group | The group the bot joins | Skipped, logged as unsupported |
| @bot, no code | A plain /start | Nowhere, nothing to credit | Sent as an ordinary message |
Telegram's own affiliate program works differently
Since 4 December 2024 Telegram has run an affiliate system for bots and Mini Apps, the one case where Telegram rather than the bot does the counting. A developer sets a commission and a duration, affiliates join from their Stars balance, and the referrer earns a share of the Stars each referred user spends inside that app. Telegram's client configuration bounds the rate between 0.1% and 80% by default. Attribution runs through links whose start code carries a _tgr_ prefix, and the affiliate API page counts a referral only when the user starts the Mini App for the first time after following one. Earned Stars stay locked for 21 days. The affiliate terms name "artificially inflating engagement or interaction metrics, whether manually or through automated means" as grounds for ending the arrangement, and three weeks is plenty of time to look.
Can a link clicker or a generator create referrals without accounts?
No. A referral link clicker bot telegram users search for turns out to be one of two things, and neither creates a referral from nothing.
The first is a link opener: software that loads t.me/yourbot?start=CODE in a browser or a headless page, often thousands of times. A browser shows Telegram's preview page with an Open button and stops there. Nothing reaches the bot, because the code travels only inside a logged-in Telegram client, sent by an account that presses Start. A best referral link clicker bot telegram ranking, a telegram referral link clicker bot free download and a referral link clicker bot telegram free trial all share this flaw. The counter on the tool climbs. The counter in the bot stays at zero.
The second is a telegram referral generator that does produce starts, because somewhere behind it real accounts press Start. Somebody owns those accounts. When the service costs nothing, as with a free telegram bot referral generator or an unlimited referral generator for telegram bot programs, the accounts are usually the cheapest available, shared across every customer and often already flagged, so the bot owner sees the same user IDs arriving under dozens of different codes. Few patterns are easier to filter.
The same arithmetic is why "unlimited" never holds. A telegram unlimited referral bot can be no larger than the number of distinct accounts behind it, since a second start from one account is the same user ID. Each telegram bot unlimited referral offer, each telegram unlimited referral bot free trial and each unlimited referral bot telegram listing is a claim about how many accounts the seller holds, and a best unlimited referral bot telegram ranking sorts sellers by that one number. Ask for it first. Then ask whose accounts they are.
What does a Telegram bot starter do across many accounts?
A telegram bot starter makes every account you select press Start on the same bot, once, with the code you give it. That is all the Bot Starter / Referral module in Telegram Solutions does, and the narrowness is deliberate: each account sends one request per target and then waits.
You paste targets one per line, as an @username, a t.me link or a referral link with ?start= or ?startapp=. An optional field holds a code for bare @bot lines. Start Mode reads the type from each link, or forces plain /start, classic referral or Mini App referral for every line. For a classic referral the module calls messages.startBot with the code as start_param, the request an official app sends when someone taps the button. For a Mini App link it opens the app with the code attached, and by default sends a /start first, because many Mini App programs create the user record from /start before they read the launch parameter. A ?startgroup= link adds a bot to a group rather than registering a referral, so the module logs it and moves on.
Searches name the same job a dozen ways: a telegram mass start bot, a telegram auto start bot, a telegram bot starter tool, a telegram auto referral tool or a telegram bot auto referral, and a free telegram bot starter does it with fewer guards. Under every label it is one request per account.
Pacing and stop rules
Three accounts run in parallel by default and ten at most, and an account with several bots pauses 8 seconds between them, adjustable from 1 to 120. After each start the module reads the bot's latest reply and writes its first line to the log, which is the only real evidence the start went through, so read it. A target that is not a bot, or no longer exists, fails under its own reason and the run continues. Throttling is treated as a stop sign. A FLOOD_WAIT longer than five minutes, or a third flood wait on one account, ends that account's run, and PEER_FLOOD or a banned, duplicated or revoked session ends it at once. Those thresholds are ours. None is published by Telegram, and its API error reference defines FLOOD_WAIT_X only as a required wait of X seconds.
Accounts come from the panel's session table, shown above. There is no English walkthrough video for this module on our channel yet.
A telegram referral bot multiple accounts run, like any telegram bot start multiple accounts job, depends on the sessions more than on the module. Each account needs a working session, kept with the api_id its number is bound to and its own exit through a SOCKS5 or MTProto proxy per account. Sessions load from Telethon files or from a portable or desktop TDATA folder. Whether one person should hold forty accounts at all is a separate question, answered in how many accounts Telegram lets one person keep.
What do bot owners check before a referral pays out?
More than most buyers expect. A bot sees only what Telegram hands it, but that is enough to separate a farm from an audience. The Bot API's User object carries a stable id, the name, an optional username, the language code and an is_premium flag on every update, and the bot can ask Telegram whether that user joined the channel it requires.
| Check | What the bot sees | What a starter run changes |
|---|---|---|
| One credit per user ID | The id on every /start | Each account counts once at most |
| Required channel | Membership, asked of Telegram | Nothing: starting a bot joins no channel |
| Button or captcha step | Whether the next button was tapped | Nothing: the module presses Start only |
| Mini App activity | Launch data and in-app actions | One launch, no play |
| Wallet connection | An address tied to the user | Nothing: no wallet step in the panel |
| Profile signals | Premium flag, username, language | Unchanged |
| Payout review | Whatever the project logged for weeks | Decided later, by the owner |
The last row is the expensive one. Airdrop projects in particular judge referrals at distribution, not at the start, and crypto press coverage of farm bans describes projects discarding accounts that share devices, address ranges, wallets or timing. Those reports come from projects and journalists, not from Telegram, and no project publishes the rule it applies. The sequence is consistent, though. The referral counter rises at once and the deduction lands weeks later, after the work is done, so a telegram airdrop referral bot or a telegram airdrop bot multiple accounts setup is a bet on a review nobody outside can read.
Free, script or bought: which telegram referral tool fits?
Start from what has to happen, because the three routes fail in different places.
Free tools are mostly the link openers and shared-account generators described above. A telegram referral bot free download, a telegram bot referral free website, a referral increase bot telegram channel or a telegram bot referral generator asks for one of two things in return. Your referral link is harmless. Your session files are the accounts themselves. Never upload a session to a website, and never type a login code into a tool that offers to automate the rest. The pitch changes from a telegram auto referral bot free trial to an auto referral bot telegram free download to the best auto referral bot telegram free list, but a code entered into somebody else's software is a login handed over.
Scripts and bought software
A telegram bot referral script is honest by comparison. A telegram referral bot script built on Telethon calls the same startBot request in a loop over your own sessions, and the loop is a few dozen lines. The loop leaves out everything around it: an api_id per number, a proxy per account, a stop rule for flood waits, a log showing which start the bot answered. Most of the work lives there, and so do most of the restrictions.
Buying splits two ways. Searches like buy telegram referral bot, telegram referral bot buy, telegram bot referral buy and buy telegram bot start referral mix people who want software with people who want referrals delivered. Delivered referrals are someone else's accounts pressing Start on your code, and you inherit their history. Telegram referral bot software or telegram bot referral software like ours runs on accounts you already hold, so each start is exactly as good as your pool. We do not sell accounts or proxies, and we would not point anyone to a seller who does.
If you are running the program instead
Building a program rather than filling one calls for different tools, and a best telegram referral bot free list mostly shows builders that hand every member a telegram bot referral link free of charge. Read why Bot API tools and account-based tools never overlap first, then the limits of what a forwarding bot can reach for how little a bot sees. Channels follow the same logic with invite links: a telegram invite referral bot gives each member a personal invite link and Telegram reports how many people joined through it, the mechanism behind inviting by link rather than adding members directly.
Is farming referrals with many accounts against Telegram's rules?
Usually, though never in those words. Telegram's terms do not mention referral farming, yet they come close from three directions. The Bot Developer terms forbid "social growth manipulation". The affiliate terms forbid inflating engagement by hand or by automation. And the general Terms of Service forbid spam, which is where most referral links end up.
Spam is the common route. Posting a referral link into dozens of groups or DMing it to strangers in bulk gets accounts reported far faster than a quiet run of starts. Volume buys no weight on Telegram, which is also why reports from many accounts count for no more than one. Read each program's own rules as well. Most referral and airdrop programs allow one account per person, and joining one means accepting that.
Some uses break no rule at all. A developer testing a telegram referral complete bot flow needs real starts to confirm the counter, the reward message and the dedupe before launch. A team running a pool starts the same utility bots on every account. Both are telegram referral automation of your own property.
The lines the module does not cross
It will not make a start count. It raises no limit, creates no accounts, solves no captcha, joins no channels on its own, connects no wallets and hides nothing from the bot's owner. If a plan depends on a project not noticing forty accounts that started its bot in one afternoon, this is the wrong tool, and so is every other.
A campaign also leaves accounts sitting in every channel it required. Leaving all of those groups in one pass and pruning the contacts it added return them to a normal shape; exporting the bot conversation first keeps a record of what each bot promised. Before the next one, searching for the project's real community tells you more about whether it pays than its referral counter will.
